About the photographer
My name is Corey
Benson. I enjoy hiking and being outside. Photography has also been
something that I enjoy when I have time to myself. I periodically work
in the construction industry and in doing so I realized that aerial
photography has helped me complete tasks accurately. I have been flying
for only a year and a half but in that time I have seen things that
I wish I could have captured with a camera. This sparked the idea of
taking up aerial photography.
About the plane
The aircraft of choice
for me is a Cessna 182, for multiple reasons. First and foremost are
its outstanding capabilities for aerial photography. It is a high winged
aircraft, so its easy to see the ground. It can be easily put
into slow flight for clear pictures, glass covers many angles of the
cockpit for diverse shots, and I am familiar with its controls (I was
trained in a Cessna 152).
About the camera
The camera that I
use is a Canon XTI Rebel. It has 10.1 megapixels for clear shots. I
use a wide angle lens for large areas of landscape and a 75-300 mm lens
to get close and detailed shots of individual buildings. It is a wonderful
and reliable camera.
